Giordani sang nearly 250 performances with the company in 27 roles, beginning with his 1995 debut as Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème.

In honor of his remarkable career, Met Opera Radio (Ch. 75) will rebroadcast a 2003 performance of Hector Berlioz’s rare gem Benvenuto Cellini — one of two Met-premiere productions in which the tenor starred — with the Giordani in the title role. James Levine conducts an exciting cast that also features soprano Isabel Bayrakdarian as Teresa, baritone Peter Coleman-Wright as Fieramosca, and bass-baritone John Del Carlo as Giacomo Balducci.
