Good morning! A lot happens in sports, even when you’re not watching, so here are the top headlines and moments from yesterday, in case you missed anything while you were watching Love & Hip-Hop.

Tide Rolls to National Championship

Alabama won its fourth National Championship in seven years, defeating Clemson 45-40 in the College Football Playoff final. Of course, you don’t want to read about what happened, you want your recap in GIFs! And here at SiriusXM Sports, we give you what you want!

Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry got things started early with a 50-yard touchdown run, thanks to some outstanding blocking from the Alabama offensive line:

Deshaun Watson answered by dropping a couple dimes with two beautiful throws to Hunter Renfrow. The Tigers made it clear to the Crimson Tide they weren’t going to roll over them the way they rolled over Michigan State.

Henry answered with a one-yard score, running behind two 300-pound defensive linemen. ‘Bama broke the tie in the third quarter thanks to a blown coverage by Clemson, which allowed Jake Coker to find a wide open O.J. Howard for a 53-yard touchdown.

But Clemson didn’t blink. A field goal by Greg Huegel and a one-yard touchdown run by Wayne Gallman gave the Tigers a three-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, which had coach Dabo Swinney feeling like…

Then things got a little crazy in the fourth quarter as both teams put up a combined 40 points on the scoreboard, a National Championship record for points in a fourth quarter.

After Alabama tied the game on an Adam Griffith field goal, the ever-so sly Nick Saban dialed up a perfectly-timed onside kick that the Crimson Tide recovered. Smooth move by Saban, who couldn’t help but to flash a mischievous grin.

On the second play of the ensuing drive, Coker found Howard behind the defense yet again for a 51-yard bomb. Howard was named offensive player of the game after finishing with 208 receiving yards and two scores on five catches. As the old saying goes, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”

Clemson answered with a field goal, but on the ensuing kickoff Kenyan Drake fired up his jet-boots and flew down the field for a 95-yard return.

Watson brought Clemson within five on a 15-yard pass to Artavis Scott and a failed two-point conversion. But Henry showed why he won the Heisman with this hard-fought one-yard run to put the dagger in the Tigers:

With the win, Saban joins Bear Bryant as the only other coach in history to win at least five national championships and Frank Leahy as the only two coaches to win four in seven years.

Henry finished with 158 yards and three touchdowns. Watson threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns and added 73 yards on the ground. The two shared a moment after the game:

Saban is now just one short of Bryant for most titles in college football history.
