After years of success as Journey’s frontman, Steve Perry seemingly stopped “believin’” in his music. The rock legend enjoyed a number of top hits with his band in the ’80s and ’90s — then inexplicably vanished from the public eye.

Following a nearly 20-year hiatus, Perry has returned to music and the pop charts. The singer-songwriter discussed his new album, “Traces,” and explained why he’s finally back during an exclusive SiriusXM Town Hall, hosted by Katie Couric on The Pulse.

He recounted experiences with his late girlfriend, Kellie Nash, that inspired him to resurface with “Traces,” and talked about how Nash’s laughter appears on the album’s bonus track.
