National divide over the Obama administration’s decision not to veto the United Nations resolution, which condemned Israeli settlements in the West Bank, has grown stronger in recent days. And President-elect Donald Trump echoed the chorus of displeasure in a tweet:

“The big loss yesterday for Israel in the United Nations will make it much harder to negotiate peace. Too bad, but we will get it done anyway!” he posted.

In a separate tweet, sent on December 23, Trump promised, “As to the U.N., things will be different after Jan. 20th.”

And many, including former Gov. Sarah Palin, hope Trump’s hard-line critique of the global organization will result in action.

“I call for our next president, Donald Trump, to call for the unshackling of the political bands tying us to the UN,” Palin told Breitbart London Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam on Thursday. “And by exiting the UN — where injustice is actually rewarded — we then will be able to uphold America’s reputation as a leader and the kind and compassionate and generous nation that we are, as the nation sharing values that when emulated by any other nation can bring justice and equal rights to any other nation.”

Palin concluded, “It’s our government, it’s our money funding the lion’s share of the global circus. It’s we the people needing to rise up and make this a part of the revolution that we just so have benefited from.”
