Wyatt Russell Says Sister Kate Hudson Has an ‘Insane’ Singing Voice
Music, Russell said on Radio Andy, has always been in his famous family’s blood.

Wyatt Russell and John Benjamin Hickey
Sorry, ladies: Wyatt Russell is off the market.
The actor (who’s the son of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn) let it slip that he’s dating Meredith Hagner, his costar in the film “Folk Hero & Funny Guy,” on Wednesday’s episode of “My Favorite Song” with John Benjamin Hickey.
The couple “wrote a bunch of songs” for the movie, he says, and referenced “Jackson” by Johnny Cash and June Carter, a classic country song he chose as his favorite duet.
Speaking of romance, Russell, 29, listed Bob Dylan’s “Lay Lady Lay” as his favorite love song, noting that it played during sister Kate Hudson’s first dance at her 2000 wedding to now ex-husband Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes. Incidentally, the song he was obsessed with in high school is the band’s jam “Wiser Time.”
Music, Russell said, has always been in his famous family’s blood.
“My mom can find a tune in anything, like in the windshield wiper. And my dad’s grandparents were a piano teacher and a violinist, my mom’s father was a violinist by trade,” he said. “My mom was a dancer and singer, and Kate’s got an insane voice, can play piano. So it’s always been sort of around, but no one’s ever pursued that as what they do.”
Hudson, 37, showed off her vocal chops in the movie “Nine” and during a guest stint on “Glee.”
“My Favorite Song” with John Benjamin Hickey airs on Radio Andy.
