This month marks 37 years since the founding of the Rock & Rock Hall of Fame, one of the most legendary institutions in the music industry. The annual induction ceremony is a mainstay of the music calendar, and for many, induction is an honor.

Filled with artists ranging from Nirvana to Eminem, the Rock Hall celebrates music at its best, and these are some of its biggest icons.

Eric Clapton

No list of Hall of Fame inductees would be complete without Eric Clapton, the only artist to date to be inducted three times. He was first inducted in 1992 with The Yardbirds, then in 1993 with Cream, and finally in 2000 as a soloist. It’s an impressive feat and one fitting of his legendary status!

The Beatles

Mick Jagger inducted The Beatles into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Additionally, all four members have been inducted individuallyJohn Lennon in 1994, Paul McCartney in 1999, George Harrison in 2004, and Ringo Starr in 2015. As a result, they’re one of only two bands in which each member has been inducted separately, the other being Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Stevie Nicks

The first woman inducted more than once, Stevie Nicks, definitely deserves her place on this list. She was originally inducted with the other members of Fleetwood Mac in 1998. In recognition of her solo work, Nicks was inducted again in 2019 by Harry Styles.

Elvis Presley

As one of the founding fathers of rock ‘n’ roll, it’s unsurprising that Elvis Presley was one of the inductees at the inaugural ceremony. The King was also honored elsewhere as well — the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1998 — proving his icon status isn’t limited to the world of rock.

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton initially declined her nomination, stating that she didn’t feel she deserved the honor. Thankfully, she changed her mind, leading P!nk to induct her in 2022. A woman of many talents, Parton is also an inductee of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Gospel Hall of Fame, the GRAMMY Hall of Fame, and more.
