Surgeon General Jerome Adams: The Symbolic Reason for Wearing a Mask

U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams to Joe Madison: "From a symbolic standpoint, all I can do is speak for myself and say that for me, as the nation's doctor, I feel it is important from a symbolic point of view, that people see me, especially as a black man wearing a face covering, and a doctor. And so I do it, I encourage other people to do it, and I can't speak for the President of the United States, but it's important for people to know that wearing a face covering is safe and it is the most effective way for us to continue to reopen and to stay open."
