This weekly 30-minute radio program features inspiring messages alongside the music of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, often accompanied by the Salt Lake Tabernacle organ and the Orchestra at Temple Square. First broadcast in 1929, this program is one of the longest-running radio shows in the world. The choir performs both sacred and secular pieces that correspond with the chosen message. In addition to hymns and sacred anthems, the choir performs Broadway show tunes, classical themes and beloved folk songs.

Lloyd D. Newell is the voice of the oldest continuous nationwide network radio broadcast in America, Music and the Spoken Word. He is also a professor of religion and family life at Brigham Young University and was formerly an anchor for CNN and at WSEE-TV. Newell received his Ph.D. in Family Sciences from Brigham Young University in 1999. He and his wife Karmel are the parents of four children.
Rachel Wadham is the Education and Juvenile Collections Librarian at Brigham Young University. Rachel holds a master 's degree in library science from the University of North Texas and a master 's in education from Pennsylvania State University. She is also an instructor of children 's and adolescent literature at the university and is a professional literary critic and published author. Some of her published works include This Is My Life: A Guide to Realistic Fiction for Teens and Integrating Young Adult Literature though the Common Core State Standards. Additionally Rachel is a musician who plays eight different instruments and an artist who creates with fiber, fabric and yarn.
Lisa Valentine Clark is a writer and actress, and host of The Lisa Valentine Clark Show on BYU Radio. She is a founding member of the theater-as-improv comedy troupe, The Thrillionaries, writer, producer, and actress on the film Once I Was a Beehive, a host for 3 seasons on the TV show Random Acts and Stars in the upcoming show Show Offs, premiering 2019. She is the mother of five and author of Real Moms; Making It Up As We Go.
A Canadian native who graduated from BYU with a Communications degree, Wrubell will in 2017 begin his 26th season on the BYU football radio broadcast crew, having served as the team 's play-by-play voice since 2001. He recently completed his 21st season as the radio play-by-play broadcaster for BYU basketball, and is entering his fourth season as the voice of BYU women 's soccer. Wrubell has been the long-time host of weekly shows featuring BYU 's football and basketball coaches, and also covered the Cougars in various capacities for more than 25 years while with BYU 's flagship radio station, KSL News radio. Greg and his wife make their home in Cedar Hills and have a son and three daughters, including a BYU graduate and current BYU student.
Steve has written for National Geographic Children 's Television, Prime Recordings, and other companies, and two of his stage musicals have appeared on local PBS television. His earliest memories include Mozart 's horn concertos on his parents ' old record player and he loves nothing more than digging deep into songs and scores and finding out what makes writers and performers tick.His world-wide travels as a performer and his years as a professional tour guide in the US, Europe, and the Middle East have left him with a love for people and cultures and their musical expressions that shows up in every episode of Highway 89 and In Good Faith.
Mark is a SoCal boy who was transplanted to the Rocky Mountains. He shares a passion for rock, radio, and sitting through lengthy meetings on cold metal folding chairs.
Julie Rose is a seasoned broadcast journalist and interviewer. Over the course of her broadcast career in both Utah and North Carolina, Rose produced spots and feature news stories for NPR 's Morning Edition and All Thing Considered. Leading up to her time at BYUradio, she worked as a regional reporter for political, social and economic stories in North and South Carolina at WFAE Public Radio, Charlotte. She 's a recipient of two National Edward R. Murrow Awards for Radio Writing and also the winner of multiple regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for continuing coverage, hard news reporting, writing, use of sound, features and other categories. Rose originally received her BA from BYU in Communications.
Richard and Linda Eyre are among the most popular speakers in the world on parenting and families. They are New York Times Best Selling authors with several parenting books avaliable. Richard is a Harvard MBA, president of his own management consulting company. He was a mission president for his church in London and a former director of the White House Conference on Parents and Children as well as a candidate for Governor. Linda is a teacher, musician and co-founder of International JoySchools.com, an in-home, do-it-yourself co-op and program for teaching preschoolers the joys of life. Both Richard and Linda have served on numerous arts, university and non-profit boards and write weekly columns for the Deseret News and the Mormon Times.
Jarom Jordan started working at BYUtv in 2006 as a student reporter. Now, along with hosting BYU Sports Nation, he is now the full-time studio sports producer in charge of True Blue, Countdown to Kickoff, Cougar Postgame Show, BYUtv Sports Specials, and the Y Awards. He is also is the men 's volleyball play-by-play. He has sideline reported or done play-by-play on BYUtv for football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, hockey, rugby, and lacrosse.
Sam Payne, host of The Apple Seed: Tellers and Stories is a performer whose original stories and jazz-inflected folk music has turned the heads of critics and audiences around the west. Alone or part of Savoy, his jazz quartet, Payne 's arresting stage presence, his craft as a poet/storyteller, and his soaring tenor voice have established him as an enduring and engaging performer; the songwriter 's songwriter. A veteran of the Timpanogos and Weber storytelling festivals, Payne has brought his peculiar stories and jazz-inflected folk tunes to halls in Canada, Bulgaria, Tokyo, and from coast to coast in the United States. In addition to maintaining a career as a performing artist, he serves as the school director of Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts.
Along with hosting BYU Sports Nation, Spencer Linton is a BYUtv Play-by-Play/Sideline reporter. Before coming to BYU Broadcasting, Spencer had a successful three-year stint in Palm Springs, California working in local television news. Spencer anchored and produced the no. 1 rated "Best Local Sports Show" for ABC (KESQ) and Fox (KDFX) affiliates in the Southern California desert market. Spencer graduated from Brigham Young University in April of 2007 with a BA in Communications (Broadcast Journalism emphasis) and a minor in Korean.
Marcus Smith is the host of Thinking Aloud. He holds a Master’s degree in German literature from BYU and has worked as a writer, editor, translator, teacher and composer of sacred music. He’s known as a wordsmith, and has been known to err on the side of loquacity.
