The Season 1 finale of NBC’s newest family drama, “This is Us,” left viewers with many unanswered questions.

The good news: Season 2 promises some of those answers. The bad news: Season 2 promises more questions, too!

Sterling K. Brown, who recently won an Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actor for his role on the show, hinted at these new mysteries during an interview with host Bill Carter on SiriusXM Insight.

The biggest unsolved mystery of Season 1: How did patriarch Jack Pearson, played by “Gilmore Girls” alum Milo Ventimiglia, die?

As the series takes place during different time periods, audiences knew Jack would die as the series progressed. Season 1 teased possible causes by showing the character’s struggles with alcohol, including a scene depicting the father of three drinking and driving. Viewers thought an explanation was coming — except it didn’t.

During an interview last year with Jenny McCarthy on Stars, Ventimiglia asserted that his character’s death is a minor detail compared to the stories to come in Season 2. With one mystery solved, “This Is Us” is sure to present a few more to keep fans engaged this season.
