As far as Brett Favre is concerned, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has performed well enough this season to be named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player. But Favre, who received the honor three times during his Hall-of-Fame career, also understands there are other deserving candidates.

What he thinks would separate Ryan and solidify his standing as an MVP-caliber player is winning in the postseason.

“I think he does get overlooked,” Favre said during his regular appearance on “The SiriusXM Blitz” on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “Is he deserving? Absolutely. Only one guy can get it. That’s the reality. And there’s always going to be one, two, maybe three guys that you could make the argument.”

He continued, “I think [Ryan’s] production has been nothing short of amazing, and now it’s just a matter of getting those wins, and that’s going to be his Achilles heel until he does. So the pressure for Matt Ryan is not to produce, because he has produced. It’s to produce now, in the pressure-packed situation that he will face from here on out.”
