Revisit Wu-Tang Clan’s Epic 50 Years of Hip-Hop Show in Queens

The mighty Wu-Tang Clan headlined an unforgettable show at the Knockdown Center in Maspeth, Queens, yesterday (August 11). The legendary group formed in Staten Island indeed brought da ruckus last night, performing a slew of their greatest hits (or “wu bangas”) and fan favorites — from “Bring da Ruckus” to “C.R.E.A.M.” to “Protect Ya Neck” to “Triumph” — all in celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop!

The “For the Love” event, presented by SiriusXM and Pandora, saluted the hip-hop and remembered the milestones the genre has achieved since its origins 50 years ago. In addition to the headliner Wu-Tang, the show featured opener Lola Brooke, as well as appearances from Public Enemy icon Flavor Flav, Sway Calloway, and more.

Additionally, the event started out with a family-friendly program, “For the Love: Community Giveback” in which local students, families, and businesses can enjoy hip-hop activities and performances to support the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens. Throughout the afternoon, breakdancing performances, double-dutch to live, interactive broadcasts of SiriusXM Hip-Hop Nation’s Gray Rizzy and The Heat’s DJ Steel will also took place.

Queens of Hip-Hop

Available year-round on the SiriusXM App, Queens of Hip-Hop will also be available to subscribers in their cars on channel 104 from August 22–31.

The channel features music from today’s biggest female hip-hop artists including Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj. Listeners will also hear music from the queens who’ve paved the way including Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott and Lil’ Kim.
