“I figured it was a good way of leading a band, being on the bottom, and also being on the top, being a singer,” he said on The Spectrum.

“To come back and play a tiny bar is very humbling,” Chris Martin said before the show.

“Oldchella,” as Mick Jagger calls it, takes place in October in Indio, CA, at the Empire Polo Club.

“Cleopatra” continues in the storytelling tradition while giving fans more electric guitar, piano, and meditative lyrics.

His 33rd album, “Wonderful Crazy Night,” is due out February 5 on Island Records.
