The 2022 NFL season delivered unforgettable moments from Week 1 through Super Bowl LVII, from improbable game-winners and record-setting returns to one of the most memorable catches in recent NFL history.

SiriusXM NFL Radio counted down 10 of the season’s biggest plays in its “Top Plays of the Year Special,” hosted by Alex Marvez. Revisit the full top 10 below.

10. Deebo Samuel breaks loose for a 57-yard touchdown

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel turned a short completion into a highlight-reel score against the Los Angeles Rams on “Monday Night Football.” Samuel hauled in Jimmy Garoppolo’s pass, broke away from the defense, and raced for a 57-yard touchdown in the 49ers’ 24-9 Week 4 win.

9. Josh Jacobs walks it off with an 86-yard touchdown

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs ended an overtime thriller against the Seattle Seahawks in spectacular fashion. On the Raiders’ second play of overtime, Jacobs broke through the defense and sprinted 86 yards for the game-winning touchdown in a 40-34 victory.

8. Kadarius Toney sets a Super Bowl punt-return record

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney made Super Bowl history against the Philadelphia Eagles. His 65-yard punt return in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII set a record for the longest punt return in Super Bowl history and brought Kansas City to the Eagles’ 5-yard line. The Chiefs scored three plays later and went on to win 38-35.

7. Marcus Jones wins it with an 84-yard punt return

With the New England Patriots and New York Jets tied 3-3 in the final seconds of their Week 11 matchup, Patriots rookie Marcus Jones broke the game open. Jones returned a punt 84 yards for the game’s only touchdown, crossing the goal line with five seconds remaining to give New England a 10-3 win.

6. PJ Walker finds DJ Moore on a 62-yard Hail Mary

Carolina Panthers quarterback PJ Walker launched a 62-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore with 12 seconds remaining against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8, tying the game at 34.

The dramatic score ultimately didn’t produce a Panthers win: Moore was penalized for removing his helmet during the celebration, Carolina missed the ensuing extra point, and Atlanta eventually won 37-34 in overtime.

5. Riley Patterson completes the Jaguars’ 27-point comeback

The Jacksonville Jaguars trailed the Los Angeles Chargers 27-0 during the first half of their AFC Wild Card matchup before mounting one of the biggest postseason comebacks in NFL history.

Kicker Riley Patterson completed the rally with a 36-yard field goal as time expired, giving Jacksonville a 31-30 win and a spot in the AFC Divisional Round.

4. Sam Hubbard returns a fumble 98 yards for a touchdown

With the Baltimore Ravens threatening to take the lead in the fourth quarter of their AFC Wild Card matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson knocked the ball loose from quarterback Tyler Huntley at the goal line.

Defensive end Sam Hubbard recovered the fumble and took it 98 yards in the other direction for a touchdown, giving Cincinnati a 24-17 lead that became the final score.

3. Justin Jefferson makes an unforgettable one-handed catch

Facing fourth-and-18 late in the fourth quarter against the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson made one of the defining catches of the season.

Jefferson reached back with one hand and secured a 32-yard reception over Bills defensive back Cam Lewis to keep Minnesota’s drive alive. The Vikings eventually won 33-30 in overtime.

2. Chandler Jones turns a Patriots lateral into a walk-off touchdown

With the Patriots and Raiders tied and regulation about to expire, New England running back Rhamondre Stevenson lateraled the ball to wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who attempted another backward pass across the field.

Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones grabbed the lateral, stiff-armed Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, and returned the ball 48 yards for a game-winning touchdown as time expired.

1. Nyheim Hines returns the opening kickoff 96 yards

In the Bills’ first game following Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest during the previous week’s matchup in Cincinnati, running back and return specialist Nyheim Hines took the opening kickoff against New England 96 yards for a touchdown.

Hines added a second kickoff-return touchdown later in the game, helping Buffalo earn a 35-23 victory in its regular-season finale.
