The Japanese House and Matty Healy Cover Shania Twain’s ‘It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing’

The pair took on Twain’s 2002 ballad during an exclusive “Coffee House Live” session.

Amber Mary Bain, who records as The Japanese House, came by the SiriusXM studios to record an exclusive acoustic set for The Coffee House. She brought Matty Healy of The 1975 along, who also features on her track “Sunshine Baby” from her forthcoming album In The End It Always Does.

After the two performed “Sunshine Baby” together, they took on an unusual cover: Shania Twain’s heartbreak ballad “It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing.” Originally released on Twain’s 2002 album Up!, it was the eighth and final single off the album, written by Twain and her then-husband, Mutt Lange.
