Chloe Bailey on Working with Timbaland on ‘Resurrection’: ‘He Wanted to Leave Them Wanting More’
The actress and singer also discussed Beyoncé, teaching herself music production, and starring in Peacock’s ‘Strung.’
Chloe Bailey gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her new mixtape, “Resurrection,” and what it was like collaborating with legendary producer Timbaland.
During an appearance on Shade 45’s “CTRL, ALT, D-Stroy” with D-Stroy, Chloe shared that Timbaland encouraged her to keep the 13-track project concise.
“He was like, ‘We gotta leave them wanting more,’” she recalled, adding that his guidance helped shape the mixtape’s final form.
Chloe also reflected on how her artistry has evolved since releasing “Have Mercy,” explaining that the confidence on “Resurrection” comes from a more refined perspective.
Additionally, she looked back on manifesting a future with Beyoncé and Parkwood Entertainment, revealed how she taught herself music production using Logic Pro and YouTube tutorials, and shared fond memories of growing up homeschooled with her sister, Halle Bailey.
Chloe also discussed acting alongside Samuel L. Jackson in “Fight Night,” starring in Peacock’s “Strung,” and named Missy Elliott, Rosalía, Björk, Grimes, and Beyoncé among the artists who continue to inspire her creative journey.
