Tropical Storm Edouard Forecast and Landfall
As of Tuesday morning, Tropical Storm Edouard was located about 40 miles south-southeast of Cameron, Louisiana, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and was moving west-northwest at 8 mph.
FOX Weather reports that Edouard is expected to strengthen before reaching the Upper Texas and southwestern Louisiana coasts Tuesday afternoon. A Hurricane Watch is in effect from High Island, Texas, to Cameron, Louisiana, while a Tropical Storm Warning extends from Port Bolivar, Texas, to the Vermilion-Cameron Parish line in Louisiana.
A Storm Surge Warning is also in effect from High Island to the Vermilion-Cameron Parish line, where 3 to 5 feet of storm surge is possible.
Heavy Rain and Flash Flooding Threat
Edouard is expected to bring heavy rainfall to the region through Tuesday evening and into Wednesday morning. The Upper Texas Coast and east-central Texas could receive 3 to 6 inches of rain, with localized totals of up to 9 inches, creating a risk of flash flooding.
