Swizz Beatz, the prolific rapper and record producer behind DMX’s upcoming posthumous album, “Exodus” (out May 28), took some time to connect with host Torae on Hip Hop Nation.

Swizz reflected on DMX’s passing, describing him as a brother and one of the greatest artists, while acknowledging the struggles he faced and the weight of the loss. He shared that DMX was in a positive, creative space before his death, energized by his fans’ love and inspired during studio sessions with Snoop Dogg. Swizz also told Torae about how they created a powerful body of work together, and how he plans to honor DMX’s legacy by continuing to share that music.
