Savannah Guthrie sat down with Hoda Kotb for her first interview since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared almost two months ago. During their conversation, Savannah recounted the “chaos and disbelief” of discovering her mother had gone missing from her home.

“And my sister called me. I said, ‘Is everything OK?’ And she said, ‘No.’ She said, ‘Mom’s missing,’” Savannah said. “And I said, ‘What? What are you talking about?’ She said, ‘She’s gone.’ And she was in a panic. I was in a panic.’”

Savannah also discussed how her family is leaning on the faith Nancy taught them and her journey to find the strength to keep going, one day at a time. Plus, she revealed her plans to come back “home” to TODAY.
