Rachel Lindsay is opening up about how her divorce from ex-husband, Bryan Abasolo, changed the way she thinks about love—and revisiting one of the most memorable moments from their split. During an appearance on Radio Andy’s “Smith Sisters Live,” the former “Bachelorette” star admitted that attending weddings since her divorce has made her reflect on her own marriage.
“Every time I go to a wedding post-divorce, I’m like, ‘Was I in love?'” Rachel said.
She added that hearing deeply personal speeches celebrating a couple’s unique relationship made her realize her own wedding felt more focused on the institution of marriage than on their individual connection.
Rachel also revisited the viral “temporary leech money” Zelle memo she sent while paying temporary spousal support to Bryan. She revealed she never expected anyone else to see the note and had planned to write a different message with every payment. Looking back, Rachel said she was shocked Bryan made the memo public, believing he thought it would turn fans against her, but instead “made him look stupid.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Rachel explained why she believes reality TV is a “psychology” and “sociology” case study, weighed in on “Summer House” and “The Valley,” and discussed the WNBA’s response to online abuse directed at players.
