Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell chatted with Eddie Trunk and Dean Delray on “Trunk Nation” yesterday about the band’s 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee nomination.
“I’m very excited about it,” Farrell said. “When I heard about it, I was on the phone texting, but my feet were clapping.”
The rocker wasn’t totally surprised by the news yesterday morning. His friend, Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, tipped him off just a few days before.
“Dave Grohl had a fundraiser for his children’s school and invited me to participate,” Farrell explained. “Right when he got off stage, he said, ‘Hey man. I just want to let you know something. I’ve been working with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.’ And he looks up at me, and he says, ‘I got you on the ballot, man. And I hope it all goes well.'”
Jane’s Addiction is just one of the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees announced yesterday morning; 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Stevie Van Zandt announced the list on VOLUME’s morning music news show, “Feedback.”
