The ‘Outer Banks’ Cast Joins an Exclusive ‘Front Row’ Special on SiriusXM Hits 1

Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes, Jonathan Daviss, and Drew Starkey sat down with SiriusXM Hits 1’s The Morning Mash Up to discuss the final season of their hit Netflix show.
During the exclusive Outer Banks Front Row event, the cast also revealed that Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro watches the Netflix hit with his daughter and contacted the cast to help celebrate her birthday.
“Robert De Niro watches the show. He watches it with his daughter,” Daviss said. “He asked us to do a FaceTime call for his daughter on her birthday.”
“We were like, ‘Yeah, right now — we’ll do it right now. Absolutely,’” he added.
And De Niro isn’t Outer Banks‘ only A-list viewer. The cast revealed that Matt Damon is also familiar with the series thanks to his daughters.
The stars also looked back at the show’s unlikely rise from a series that debuted during the COVID-19 lockdown to a global phenomenon. Without the usual opportunities to encounter fans, the cast initially relied on social media to gauge its popularity.
“I honestly didn’t feel it until season two,” Starkey said. “I was like, ‘Oh, people really connect with the show.’”
