Jennifer Lawrence Says She’s Returning to ‘Hunger Games’ on Call Her Daddy
Jennifer Lawrence shares exciting “Hunger Games” update with Alex Cooper on the latest episode of “Call Her Daddy” on SiriusXM.
Jennifer Lawrence made a big Hunger Games reveal.
In the latest episode of Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper, the Oscar-winning actress shared what it was like to reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen alongside co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson for the Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping. Listen to the full episode on the SiriusXM app.
“It was so crazy because it was the same crew,” Jennifer told Alex about returning to the role after 11 years. “It was the same camera guys, the same AD who I’ve worked with a million times too, cause I love him. Josh and Woody. And like it was so emotional. Josh and I didn’t walk to the bathroom without our arms around each other. It was so beautiful.”
“And Woody, obviously, came through the window of my hotel room uninvited. Cause it would not be the same,” she added. “It wouldn’t be the same if he listened to boundaries and used a door.”
As Jennifer prepares for fans to see her return to the Hunger Games universe, she looked back on the day she auditioned for the first film.
“Oh God. Um, skinny jeans,” she recalled about her outfit for her audition. “I remember stopping to buy candy before and eating it in the parking lot and then it was at the director Gary Ross’s house in his office above the garage and he cried in my audition. So, I was like, that seems like a good sign.”
After landing the role, Jennifer could have never guessed the lasting impact the film would have on fans and her career.
“What made me nervous was just the way, I was afraid that it could negatively affect my acting career,” she explained. “And just like my my personal life because like the one thing that I was always sure of when I was younger was like I want to be a mom. And I was just like this just looks so different than you know doing some indies and like doing a film here. Like this is huge.”
“Twilight had like just come out and everybody saw what that was,” she added. “And so it was really just more like how is this going to change my life and my acting career.”
Like Twilight, the Hunger Games put fans in the middle of Katniss’ love triangle as they had to decide if they were Team Peeta or Team Gale.
For Jennifer, the answer is simple.
“I was team Gale,” she said. “Even after he killed my sister.”
