Dorinda Medley has a few simple rules for Gia Giudice before she takes a big step in her relationship.

On October 27, the Next Gen NYC star appeared on Radio Andy’s Reality Checked with Dorinda Medley and Kiki Monique, after revealing that she was days away from moving in with her boyfriend, Christian Carmichael. And Dorinda dropped some relationship wisdom. Listen to the full episode on the SiriusXM app.

“You know I’m not a fan of that,” Dorinda told Gia—who shared she and Christian were moving in together in 5 days. “I told you not to move in too quickly. We had a whole speech about that.”

Gia assured Dorinda that she’s been with her boyfriend for almost 7 years, but Dorinda still wanted to offer some motherly advice.

“I have a rule” the Real Housewives of New York alum said. “You don’t get a dog with someone before you’re married. You don’t move in with each other before you’re married… mixes finances. And you don’t get pregnant before you’re married. Not that anything is morally wrong with it, but it just complicates things.”

Though Gia and Christian have already made the decision, Dorinda wanted to be sure that his name is on the lease.

“Don’t worry,” Gia said. “I am 10 steps ahead of you, and yes, he is. I’m very financially smart and on top of my money.”

Admitting that she just had this same conversation with her daughter Hannah Lynch, Dorinda could breathe a sigh of relief.

“Alright,” she exclaimed. “Well, I feel a little better. My heart was beating there.”

“Hannah just did that,” she added. “And I’m like, ‘Could you please show me the exit clause, cause if it doesn’t work out, I’m not paying for double the rent.’”

“Reality Checked” is bold, edgy, and opinionated. Hosted by Dorinda Medley and Kiki Monique, this daily show on Radio Andy (Ch. 101) covers the reality TV zeitgeist, from recaps of iconic jaw-dropping moments to engaged (and sometimes enraged) listener call-ins and interviews with the stars of your favorite shows.
