Amy Schumer Teases Her Oscars Jokes with Andy Cohen
Schumer talked about how she’s prepping to bring life back to the freshly shortened awards show.
During a new interview with host Andy Cohen on Radio Andy, Amy Schumer revealed that she is working on her material for co-hosting the Academy Awards on March 27.
“My favorite thing is to work on a set,” she explained. “Like, I used to do those roasts and whatever. So, writing jokes and asking my friends who are comics to help with jokes, so it’s just been so, so fun working on it. I’m like — working on it is kind of the best part.”
Andy and Amy both agreed that past Academy Awards have been painfully too long (Andy likened them to a telethon without a disease). To shake things up, the 94th Academy Awards ceremony has cut eight categories and will be hosted by Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
“I’m gonna be me,” she warned, to which Andy replied, “Well, good. That’s what we’re all signing up for.”
