The eighth weekend of the Big Ten Football season is in the books and here is how the conference stacks up heading into the ninth week of play:

  1. (2) OHIO STATE

The Buckeyes had a week to rest up and prepare for a pivotal stretch run of the season

NEXT: At USC on Saturday

  1. (4) INDIANA

The Hoosiers have had their back against the wall a lot more this year than last season but are still very much in the mix.

NEXT: Home versus Minnesota on Saturday

  1. (7) UCLA

The only remaining unbeaten team in the Big Ten Conference are the Bruins

NEXT: Home versus Nevada on Saturday

4.  (20) NORTHWESTERN

The Wildcats are definitely for real as they continue to rise in the AP Top 25 rankings.

NEXT: At Oregon on Saturday

  1. (25) WISCONSIN

The Badgers win over USC catapulted them into the AP Top 25

NEXT: At Iowa on Saturday

  1.  USC

Was the loss at Wisconsin a stumble or the start of a trend?

NEXT: Home versus Ohio State on Saturday

  1. MINNESOTA

PJ Fleck’s squad has exceeded a lot of pre-season predictions with a 5-2 start for the Golden Gophers

NEXT: At Indiana on Saturday

  1. NEBRASKA

The Huskers can be bowl eligible Saturday night with a win over Washington at home

NEXT: Home versus Washington on Saturday

  1. IOWA

Iowa’s offense again is the focal point and the inability to put points on the board girt again last week losing to Minnesota

NEXT: Home versus Wisconsin on Saturday

  1. MICHIGAN

The Wolverines kept Indiana on its toes last week but couldn’t get it done in overtime

NEXT: At Rutgers on Saturday

  1. ILLINOIS

The Fighting Illini have been a tough team to figure out this year but they donut a way to knock Oregon off at home last weekend

NEXT: At Maryland on Saturday

  1. OREGON

The Ducks appear to have already flown south for the winter at least in the standings

NEXT: Home versus Northwestern on Saturday

  1. WASHINGTON

We’ll see what kind of Huskies team shows up in Nebraska after a bye week

NEXT: At Nebraska on Saturday

  1. PURDUE

A good opportunity for Barry Odom’s crew to come out of a bye and beat Penn State on the road this week

NEXT: At Penn State

  1. PENN STATE

Purdue’s pass defense is not good, which should give the Nittany Lions and quarterback Rocco Becht a pretty good shot at a win Saturday

NEXT: Home versus Purdue

16.  MICHIGAN STATE

Spartans get a week off to regroup before taking on Michigan next weekend

NEXT: Bye Week

  1. RUTGERS

The Scarlet Knights didn’t put up much of a fight against Northwestern last week and now take on Michigan on Saturday

NEXT: Home versus Michigan on Saturday

  1. MARYLAND

It’s a legitimate question to ask whether Maryland will win another game this year

NEXT: Home versus Illinois on Saturday
