Zohran Mamdani Confirms Ongoing Contact With Kamala Harris After NYC Mayoral Victory
The New York City mayor also discussed the heatwave and shared his July 4th playlist “The Clay Cane Show.”
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed that former Vice President Kamala Harris recently reached out to him following his mayoral victory.
During today’s episode of “The Clay Kane Show” on SiriusXM Urban View, Mamdani revealed that he and Harris have spoken and have remained in contact over the past several months.
“The vice president reached out to have a conversation,” Mamdani said. “We’ve had a brief conversation. We’ve been in touch over the last few months, and I really do appreciate her outreach.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Mamdani urged New Yorkers to take the record-breaking heat wave seriously, highlighting the city’s more than 200 cooling centers, extended public pool hours, and outreach efforts to protect vulnerable residents. He also reflected on the nation’s 250th anniversary, saying it’s an opportunity to celebrate America’s progress while recognizing “all that is still left to fight for,” before sharing his July 4 playlist featuring Beyoncé, Bad Bunny, and Dipset.
