The newest film from Luca Guadagnino, “Call Me By Your Name,” starring Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet, has been causing quite a bit of controversy in some circles.

The film portrays Hammer as a 24-year-old college student who is pursued by (and eventually falls for) a 17-year-old boy, played by Chalamet.

While the film has received rave reviews from critics and even some Oscar buzz, one person in particular was surprisingly not excited to see the film: Hammer’s mother.

During an interview with SiriusXM host Andy Cohen on Radio Andy, Hammer said his mom told him she won’t be supporting the film due to her “very conservative” views.
