Taran Killam Says Decision To Leave ‘Saturday Night Live’ Was Mutual but Not on His Terms

The news of Taran Killam’s abrupt departure from “Saturday Night Live” was not all right, all right, all right with fans of the comedian celebrated for his impressions of Matthew McConaughey, Eminem, Christoph Waltz, and more.
NBC announced in August that Killam and Jay Pharoah would not return for what would have been their seventh seasons on the sketch juggernaut.
Appearing on “The Jenny McCarthy Show” on Wednesday to promote his film “Brother Nature” with “SNL” costar Bobby Moynihan, Killam admitted the decision “was somewhat mutual.”
“It wasn’t by my own terms, but very, very happy,” he said.
“It was me,” Moynihan interjected. “It was my terms.”
“It was on Bobby’s terms, which is really a bit of a jab,” Killam joked. “But no, I had amazing, amazing times on that show. I am also very excited for sleep.”
“The Jenny McCarthy Show” airs weekdays from 10am–12pm ET on Stars.
