Sylvester Stallone wants another shot at Rocky V.
During a SiriusXM Front Row conversation on Radio Andy, Sylvester reveals to Andy Cohen that he has been speaking with Amazon about recutting the 1990 film, which he described as a lingering disappointment.
“This is news. I’ve been talking to Amazon. I said, ‘Please give me three weeks. I want to recut that movie,’” Sylvester said.
Sylvester said he is “100%” confident he could improve the film, including by reworking the score and restoring more music from longtime Rocky composer Bill Conti.
“It’s like a thorn in my soul,” he said.
During the Front Row, the legendary actor, director, and screenwriter reflected on the franchise more broadly, naming Rocky II and Rocky Balboa as his favorite sequels outside the original.
Sylvester also opens up about beginning steroid use around Rocky III and the effect it had on his behavior.
“Steroids turn you into an animal. I mean, you become very combative,” Sylvester said.
