Nikki Bella Reveals She Almost Hosted ‘Love Island’ as Blake Monroe Recalls Turning It Down
On “The Nikki & Brie Show,” Blake also opens up about her journey from wrestling in England and Japan to “NXT” and “SmackDown.”
On today’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki Garcia and WWE star Blake Monroe revealed their connections to Love Island.
Blake explained that she was first approached about joining the UK version of Love Island when she was around 18 or 19 years old. At the time, however, she was focused on her dream of becoming a WWE Superstar.
“I just didn’t think it was a fit,” Blake recalled, adding that she was approached again years later after moving to America. Ultimately, she found love on her own and didn’t pursue the opportunity.
The conversation prompted Nikki to reveal that she nearly had a Love Island USA gig of her own — as a host.
“When they were bringing the USA Love Island, it was between me and [Arielle Vandenberg],” Nikki recalled. “If she wasn’t going to say yes, I would’ve been the host.”
Nikki admitted that she “wasn’t prepared enough” for her audition, but said landing the role “would’ve been really cool.”
During the show, Blake also opened up about her journey from wrestling in England and Japan to NXT and SmackDown, her championship aspirations, and learning how to navigate online criticism. Plus, she revealed that watching Total Divas helped her mother understand how Blake could turn her childhood dream of becoming a WWE Superstar into a career.
