Karen Read and legendary attorney Alan Jackson joined Kelly Ripa on a new episode of SiriusXM’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.” The full interview is available one week early on the SiriusXM app.

In one of her first interviews after her murder acquittal, Karen opened up about the “Karen Read effect,” specifically how people started rallying behind her and standing outside the courthouse.

“I am still in awe that it even happened, that there was this groundswell,” Karen told Kelly. “And it made me question my own empathy, which I’ve always considered myself somewhat of an empath, but now I realize I’m not because I’ve seen injustices play out or other problems in society, and I wouldn’t be there in the rain or snow or ever. Now, I’d like to think I’d behave differently.”

During the episode, Alan talked about stepping down as Nick Reiner’s attorney, discussed his time prosecuting Phil Spector, and broke down his favorite moment ever. Plus, Karen detailed how she first connected with Alan, reflected on her critics, and the two announced their latest venture, “The Read Files.”

Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” airs Tuesdays at 5pm ET on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy (Ch. 102). Stream every episode on the SiriusXM app and web player.
