To mark the release of his new book, Vice President JD Vance sat down with Megyn Kelly in SiriusXM’s New York City studios for a wide-ranging interview on “The Megyn Kelly Show.” During their conversation, Vance and Kelly discussed the current divide on the right, critiques of the Iran peace deal, and more.
“The coalition that made Donald Trump the President of the United States and JD Vance the Vice President… it was Megyn Kelly, and Tucker Carlson, and Joe Rogan,” Vance said. “It was also Mark Levin, it was also a lot of people like John Podhoretz… I’m never going to say John Podhoretz is not welcome in the Republican party. He is. But just as he is disappointed right now, sometimes other people are going to be disappointed at other times. You can’t just quit politics because the leader of a country of 330 million people makes a decision you disagree with.”
Vance also reflected on working with President Donald J. Trump.
“I talked to him last night and I said ‘Mr. President I’m going to go on Megyn Kelly’s show and defend the administration’s policies,'” Vance said. “He said ‘absolutely I love that.’ Because he engages – he’s going to criticize you when he disagrees with you, he’s going to say nice things about you when he agrees with you, but that’s what I actually love about the president.”
Vance’s new book, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,” centers on “his conversion to Catholicism in 2019, while also serving as a sequel to Vance’s previous book, ‘Hillbilly Elegy.’”
