The Pulse Airs a Simulcast of Play On: Celebrating the Power of Music to Make Change

As 2020 comes to a close, many are reflecting on the momentous events of this year and the changes they hope to continue forging in the future. In response, The Pulse is airing a simulcast of Play On: Celebrating the Power of Music to Make Change on December 15 at 8pm ET.
The extraordinary benefit concert broadcast amplifying awareness for transformational racial, social, and food justice features performances and special appearances by LL COOL J, Bruce Springsteen, Ziggy Marley, and many more. The hour-long concert special is hosted by Kevin Bacon and Eve, with three stellar music lineups spanning genres from country and rock to hip-hop and jazz/funk.
The hip-hop portion of the lineup at the famed Troubadour in Los Angeles features Gary Clark Jr., Ziggy Marley with Andra Day, and LL COOL J featuring DJ Z-Trip.
The legendary Apollo Theater in New York City showcases an electric performance by Machine Gun Kelly, as well as Jon Batiste joined by Sara Bareilles, Emily King, Pedrito Martinez, and Steve Jordan for a powerful and moving collaboration, and an exclusive performance from Bon Jovi.
The historic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville features some of today’s most acclaimed contemporary female artists, including Maren Morris, Sheryl Crow, and genre-bending British singer-songwriter Yola performing “Hold On” with The Highwomen.
Play On: Celebrating the Power of Music to Make Change will benefit the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund, Inc., the nation’s first civil and human rights law organization, and WhyHunger, a non-profit working to end hunger and advance the human right to nutritious food in the US and around the world. The Play On Fund was created by SixDegrees.org, founded by Kevin Bacon.
