The world lost a legend on Christmas Day after the death of British pop star George Michael. In his honor, SiriusXM is launching a tribute channel dedicated to his memory on Wednesday, January 4, at 12pm ET.
Faith, the George Michael Tribute Channel, will air on channel 13 and run through January 10. It features music from the singer’s entire body of work. Fans will hear Michael’s earliest recordings with Wham!, his acclaimed collaborations with Elton John, Aretha Franklin, and Queen, plus his solo hits.
Michael’s 1987 solo debut album, “Faith,” produced four No. 1 singles and sold more than 25 million copies worldwide.
Before his death, Michael was said to be working on a solo album and putting the final touches on a special documentary about his famed career. He’s currently a nominee for induction into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame in 2017. He died of heart failure at his home in England at the age of 53.
Michael was a two-time GRAMMY Award winner and sold more than 100 million albums in his 35-year career.
