The legendary Tom Petty premiered his new solo song, “The Woods,” on his exclusive SiriusXM channel, Tom Petty Radio, on Monday afternoon. “The Woods” was originally recorded during the making of Petty’s third solo album, “Highway Companion,” which was released in 2006.
Tom is joined by Heartbreakers drummer Steve Ferrone, and the song features lead guitar from Josh Jove of the Los Angeles rock outfit The Shelters.
