Billy F Gibbons Hosts Three Weeks of ‘RAW Radio’ in Celebration of ZZ Top’s New Album

Billy F Gibbons hosts three weeks of “RAW Radio” on three channels — Outlaw Country, BB King’s Bluesville, and Classic Rewind — in celebration of ZZ Top’s new album, “RAW.”

“RAW” was recorded and filmed for the GRAMMY-nominated Netflix documentary “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” in Gruene Hall between Austin and San Antonio. Billy F Gibbons, Frank Beard, and the late Dusty Hill gathered there to record in a spare, bare-bones way, and the result of those efforts is the 12 tracks that comprise “RAW.”

Hear the guitar legend hand-pick some of his favorite songs across different genres, plus new songs from “RAW,” starting July 22, the day the album is released.

This one-hour Outlaw Country Guest DJ special features tracks from “RAW, “recorded live at the legendary Gruene Hall, along with other hand-picked tracks from some of Gibbons’ favorite Texas artists, including Willie Nelson, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Delbert McClinton, Jerry Jeff Walker, Billy Joe Shaver, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Sir Douglas Quintet, Roy Head, and more.

BB King’s Bluesville

This one-hour BB King’s Bluesville Guest DJ special features tracks from “RAW,” recorded live at the legendary Gruene Hall, along with other hand-picked tracks from some of Gibbons’ favorite blues artists, including Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker.

Classic Rewind

In the third and final installment of “RAW Radio,” titled “Those Little Ol’ Rock Stars from Texas,” Gibbons spins and salutes his neighbors on Classic Rewind: other classic rock stars from the Lone Star State. This special focuses on Gibbons’ favorite classic rock artists, coinciding with the release of “RAW” and marking the final recorded contribution of the late Dusty Hill.
