The songs of Kris Kristofferson helped launch the Outlaw Country movement in the 1970s, and continue to inspire new generations of Outlaws.
In honor of the 84th birthday of the iconic actor, singer, songwriter and activist on June 22, SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country (Ch. 60) will air a special episode of the weekly “Steve Earle Show: Hardcore Troubadour Radio,” and the exclusive broadcast of an all-star concert recorded onboard the fifth annual Outlaw Country Cruise, “For the Good Times: An Outlaw Country Cruise tribute to Kris Kristofferson.”
Hosted by actor W. Earl Brown (Deadwood, Preacher), the 90-minute concert features performances of Kristofferson songs from Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Raul Malo (Mavericks), Ray Wylie Hubbard, Carlene Carter, Shooter Jennings, Waylon Payne, Jim Lauderdale, Dale Watson, Jesse Dayton, and Dallas Wayne, along with a singalong finale on “Why Me” led by Kristofferson himself.
