Prepare for NFL Divisional Round excitement as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Detroit Lions this upcoming weekend.

In a notable one-on-one matchup, Lions’ rookie tight end Sam LaPorta and Buccaneers’ safety Antoine Winfield, both earning their first All-Pro honors, are set to go head-to-head this Sunday. Winfield etched his name in history during the 2023 season, becoming the first defensive back since 2000 to achieve 120+ tackles, 10+ passes defensed, and 5+ sacks. On the other side, LaPorta, the rookie tight end sensation, broke records with 86 receptions, 889 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.

In a stunning playoff appearance, the Detroit Lions emerged victorious, marking their first playoff win since 1991. Tying a franchise record with 12 regular-season wins and securing their first division title since 1993, the Lions have become a formidable force in the NFL.

Quarterback Jared Goff, displaying his effectiveness in the NFC-WC against the Los Angeles Rams, aims for his fourth consecutive playoff game with a touchdown pass and zero interceptions. Goff’s impressive season includes 4,575 passing yards (ranked 2nd) and 30 touchdown passes (ranked 4th in 2023).

Running back David Montgomery, with a career-high 13 rush touchdowns in 2023, notched his first playoff rush touchdown last week. Rookie sensation Jahmyr Gibbs, leading among rookies in rush touchdowns (10), showcased his value with a rushing touchdown in his playoff debut. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, had 7 catches for 110 yards in his playoff debut.

Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, with 2 sacks in his playoff debut, can become the fourth player since 1982 with 2+ sacks in four straight games, including playoffs. Linebacker Alex Anzalone, leading the team with 8 tackles in the NFC-WC, had a career-high 129 tackles in the 2023 season. Rookie defensive back Brian Branch showcased his skills with 7 tackles and a pass defended in his playoff debut.

On the other side, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured their place in the NFC-Divisional for the third time in the past four seasons.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield made history as the first QB in Tampa Bay franchise history with 300+ pass yards and 3 touchdown passes in a playoff game. Mayfield’s 2023 season included career highs in completions, pass yards, and touchdown passes.

Running back Rachaad White, in his first two career playoff games, consistently achieved 75+ scrimmage yards. Wide receiver Mike Evans, a playoff veteran, has a touchdown catch in 2 of his 3 career road playoff games. Evans ranked tied-1st in the NFL with 13 touchdown catches in the 2023 season. Tight end Cade Otton led the team with 8 catches for 89 yards in the NFC-WC.

Linebacker Lavonte David, with 2 tackles for loss and a first-career playoff forced fumble, had a stellar performance. Rookie defensive duo YaYa Diaby and Calijah Kancey became the second pair of rookies since 2000, each with 10+ tackles for loss. Cornerback Carlton Davis, with 2 passes defended in the NFC-WC, looks to continue his success against Detroit with another strong performance.
