Gymnast Laurie Hernandez feels like she won gold with family in Rio
“These girls are like my sisters,” Hernandez told Bleacher Report Radio.

When American gymnast Laurie Hernandez won gold in the women’s team all-around at the Rio Olympics, she felt like she was celebrating with family.
The 16-year-old Olympian explained to Bleacher Report Radio what it meant to celebrate alongside Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas and Madison Kocian.
“We’ve learned to just bond together, these girls are like my sisters,” Hernandez said. “To be able to win a gold medal, it’s amost like winning a medal at the Olympics with my family.”
