Few artists have defined the sound of American rock like the Eagles — a band whose harmonies, storytelling, and unmistakable California cool have soundtracked generations with sun-soaked anthems and introspective ballads.
Memorial Day Weekend, Hotel California, the SiriusXM channel will present “Eagles: The Essential 40,” a definitive countdown of the 40 most beloved Eagles songs, as chosen entirely by listeners. No critics, no charts. Just you and other passionate Eagles fans making your voices heard.
To do that, we need your vote. Below, you’ll find a complete list of every Eagles studio recording, plus a couple of live songs that were never done in the studio. Which ones mean the most to you?
We’ll compile the votes and present the results on Friday, May 22, at 12pm ET/9am PT on Hotel California: The Eagles Channel.
Directions: Take your time scrolling through the catalog. The order of songs is randomly generated for each listener to avoid bias. Select up to 15 songs that you believe belong in the “Essential 40.” The ones you turn up louder, never skip, and know by heart. Once you’ve locked in your choices, hit vote. Every vote counts toward determining the final ranking. Voting closes at 11:59pm ET on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
