Cheap Trick Performs ‘I Want You To Want Me’ in Celebration of Their Rock Hall Induction

Cheap Trick was officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week, just days after the release of their latest album, “Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello.” In celebration of both the new album and their successful career, they stopped by Classic Rewind to perform some songs and chat with fans in a SiriusXM Town Hall moderated by original MTV VJ and SiriusXM host Mark Goodman.
“It’s the greatest honor on earth,” lead guitarist Rick Nielsen said about being in the Hall of Fame, later adding that he believes he and his bandmates are “the luckiest people on earth” because they “get to play music that we like to do…with great guys. I mean, these are my brothers. I’d kill for them, but I also want to kill them occasionally. But it’s fantastic. We get to go around the world, and a lot of people like us.”
Cheap Trick also answered questions about their influences, current bands they are listening to, their favorite songs to cover, their favorite full albums to perform live, what they owe their longevity to (“clean living and perseverance”), and what it was like having a live album break the band after their success in Japan, among other topics.
