Willie’s Roadhouse Airs the Opry’s Special Merle Haggard Tribute Show
Live right and be free with the “Opry Salutes Merle Haggard” special on Wednesday, April 6.

The Grand Ole Opry is celebrating one of country music’s most influential artists, Merle Haggard, on April 6 — the anniversary of both his birth in 1937 and death in 2016. Live right and be free when the special “Opry Salutes Merle Haggard” tribute show airs at Willie’s Roadhouse that night at 9 pm ET.
The Wednesday night show features performances by just a few of the countless artists who have been influenced by the legend. His son, Marty Haggard, Suzy Bogguss, Cody Johnson, Joe Nichols, Eli Paperboy Reed, Lainey Wilson (ACM’s New Female Artist of the Year and Song of the Year winner), and more are performing Haggard classics, as well as their own hits inspired by the Country Music Hall of Famer.
The show is part of a special three-week run of Wednesday night Opry shows taking place this spring, with more Wednesday shows set to return for an extended run this summer. Among others scheduled for upcoming Opry and Opry Country Classics shows are Lauren Alaina, Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Steve Earle, Sara Evans, Gary LeVox, Oak Ridge Boys, Michael Ray, Connie Smith, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Clay Walker, Rhett Walker, Gene Watson, and more.
