Service Coverage Map
SiriusXM’s satellite signal is available in the approximate area shown in the green shaded area on this coverage map. This coverage area will vary depending on the antenna location in your aircraft, your current altitude and direction, foliage levels and weather conditions.

Individual weather features have their own geographic coverage areas, which are shown in the table below. For example: the “Winds Aloft” weather feature covers the region from latitude 5N to 62N, and longitude -130W to -65W. Even though the feature covers this region, you would not be able to receive this data via SiriusXM satellites outside of the green shaded area.

This map is an approximation of coverage for SiriusXM service and does not identify actual service levels. Satellite signal strength at border regions may be limited.

How often is the SiriusXM Aviation Weather data updated?
SiriusXM Aviation data service elements are updated at multiple rates. Dynamic elements like radar and lightning are updated every 2.5 minutes, while other more stable data elements are updated every 60+ minutes. It's important to note that there are two variables at work with our broadcast weather service: data update rates and transmit intervals. While a product source may be updated every 30 minutes, the same data may be transmitted every 5 minutes to ensure your display is up to date. SiriusXM worked with its avionics partners to arrive at the optimal cadence of updated data and transmit intervals to ensure customers receive critical information in a timely manner.
