SiriusXM Remembers Grateful Dead Co-Founder and Bassist Phil Lesh

SiriusXM’s Grateful Dead Channel will pay tribute to Lesh with special programming.

SiriusXM is sad to report that Grateful Dead founding member and bassist Phil Lesh passed away Friday morning. He was 84.

Tune in to Grateful Dead Channel (Ch. 23) in cars and on the SiriusXM app as David Gans, Gary Lambert, and Big Steve Parish pay tribute to Lesh and take phone calls. Later today, listen to a special presentation of Lesh’s 84th birthday concert from earlier this year at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.

 

“Phil Lesh, bassist and founding member of The Grateful Dead, passed peacefully this morning,” according to a post on his official Instagram account. “He was surrounded by his family and full of love. Phil brought immense joy to everyone around him and leaves behind a legacy of music and love. We request that you respect the Lesh family’s privacy at this time.”
