The Coffee House presents “Coffee House Live!”, weekly close-up acoustic performances with legendary and up & coming singer-songwriters. This week, hear Darden Smith. Smith released his first album Native Soil in 1986 and ever since is known for his unique sound blending elements of rock, pop, folk, country and Americana. His creative songwriting has been compared to artists such as Nick Drake, John Hiatt, Leonard Cohen and Elvis Costello. Smith is also an innovator in the music business as he created The Be An Artist Program in 2003 and Songwriting With in 2011. Smith’s upcoming album Love Calling will be released in August. Darden stopped by the Sirius XM studios to share some insight on his music and songwriting for Coffee House Live!
