Summer Tour Weekend

Throughout the weekend, live songs from the Grateful Dead’s archives of memorable performances from concerts that took place during Summer tours. May 1977 Special

Join Grateful Dead archivist and SiriusXM host David Lemieux as he presents a 90-minute special spotlighting the Dead’s brand new MAY 1977 boxed set, featuring live performances from an incredible springtime run by the band. The limited-edition, 14-disc boxed set consists of five complete shows from consecutive stops on that magical tour, and David will play a sampling from each show!

Each of these shows finds the Dead delivering punchier, more focused sets, tightening up the framework; each night turning out first-ever renditions, unloading potent new pairings, classic covers and soon-to-be staples. The resulting performances represent a high-water mark in the Grateful Dead's long strange trip.

He previously worked at the National Archives of Canada and the British Columbia Archives, and currently sits on the board of directors of the Victoria Film Festival in Victoria, BC.
